Tasting Notes

Whites

1 .

This wine shows mineral and musk aromas with a generous full and dry palate balanced by a crisp acid finish.  (The hallucinations will last a week).

2 .

Slipped in under the cover of darkness with wisps of this and a smattering of that.  One could muse about it’s real identity but there is a dearth of data.  Distant misty hills and a few wanky looking pines and yes there appears a horse and cart…. What is this!  13% Alc. by vol.

3 .

From Sandy Loams to you.  Has fresh honeydew melon and white peach aromas.  Crisp pineaple and other tropical fruit can be found on the front of the palate along with a soft creaminess that rounds out the finish.  The real question is whether the “Other” tropical fruit include Durian or Jackfruit?

4 .

You may have tasted this before here.  There is a picture of the scourge of the vineyard on the label.  Pear and Nougart aromas with flavours of apple and grapefruit.  (Not to mention some Lebanese cheese).

Something regional, something from far away.  Make your choice gentlemen.  Each wine is similar to one other.

Reds

5 .

Displays cherry and raspberry fruits typical of cool climate …….  A soft, silky palate is supported by a fine tannin backbone that makes it ideal for constant consumption.

6 .

It is a deep cherry colour with aromas of cherry and spice.  The rich complex palate of game, dark cherry, plum and sweet oak leads to a silky and seductive finish.  13.6 % Alc by Vol.  This winery could have been called budgie mount but it would have been all wrong.

7 .

Deep Purple, Full bodied, Perfumed violets and dark cherries with a palate of Stewed cherries, firm tannins and American Oak.  Should not be drunk during pregnancy or while mixing it with the Taliban.

8 .

Classic Bordeaux variety with a deep colour and spicy fragrance.  Seasoned in French Oak for 15 months.  Three “L”s, Three “U”s and two “K”s.  Whats in a name?

There is something similar about the four wines.  Could be colour, could be more.  Once again each wine is similar to one other.   We are being patriotic with this lot.

My friends tell me that I have a tendency to point out problems without offering solutions, but they never tell me what I should do about it.
